New York City Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Monday that three areas can begin the first stage of his economic resuming strategy Friday when a stay-at-home order expires.
The Finger Lakes, Southern Tier, and Mohawk Valley areas — which include cities like Rochester, Binghamton, and Utica — have been provided the green light after meeting criteria like a decline in coronavirus hospitalizations and having enough testing.
However, for other parts of the state that have not fulfilled the criteria, such as New York City City, business closures are remaining in location without any clear end date in sight.
” Some areas are ready to go today, they just need to get some logistical pieces in order by the end of the week,” Cuomo informed reporters Monday.

Stage one of Cuomo’s reopening strategy will allow the three approved regions to resume their building and construction and manufacturing markets. Retail stores will be able to open for shipment or pickup, along with the farming, forestry, and fishing organisations.

Cuomo also announced that as of Friday, landscaping and gardening services and drive-in film theaters will be enabled to reopen across the state, while outside, ” low-risk recreational activities” like tennis will be permitted also.
The restricted resuming announcements come as New York’s day-to-day variety of coronavirus hospitalizations and deaths continues to decline.

The state on Monday reported an additional 161 deaths, a number Cuomo states is “still too expensive, however much better than it has been.”
” So, we see all the arrows are pointed in the right instructions,” he added.
New york city stays the hardest-hit state with more than 335,000 favorable coronavirus cases and more than 26,000 deaths. A minimum of 58,000 have recovered.
