Mitchell Galin and Keiko Napier, of Venice, stated Cooper, their 4-pound Yorkshire Terrier, was laying in their backyard over the weekend when a FedEx employee who was providing a large plan tossed it onto their residential or commercial property.
The package apparently landed on Cooper, the couple told KCBS-TV Galin stated she “right away chose up the box, and Cooper was in a puddle of blood.”
Cooper suffered severe lung and liver injuries, per the pet’s vet. The couple said they selected to have the pup euthanized.
” It hurt to see your pet in discomfort,” Galin said.
FedEx stated in a declaration acquired by the news outlet they “extend our deepest compassions to the household of the pet associated with this occurrence.”
” We take this matter very seriously and are working straight with those involved to determine the situations behind this occasion,” the company continued. ” Based upon the result of our investigation, we will take the proper action.”
However Napier said the action from FedEx was “not satisfying.”
” I feel they need to say they’re going to set up a corporate-wide mandate that drivers can not toss packages; that’s what I desire to hear. I don’t wish to hear we’ll check out it,” Napier stated. “Our grandchild plays out here. My mom is out here gardening. I’m here gardening.
