There is only one word I can use to describe my recent experience: incredible. When I went to Nana’s during their opening week, they definitely had some kinks to work out. I’m delighted to say that when I returned this past weekend to give it a second shot, I was impressed beyond belief. The owner Eladio seriously responded to early yelp reviews and has made some very positive improvements.
First of all, the chips are amazing. They have an insanely addictive seasoning on them. As for my meal, I got a taco salad made with black beans instead of meat. It was, without a doubt, the best taco salad I have ever had in my life. Cucumber, spinach, carrots in a..TACO SALAD? YES. My fiance ordered the Mijo Burrito which was awesome and I wish I had snagged more than one bite. We also were given complementary tostadas as we waited for our meal (which came out very quickly). The server noted that the refried beans are now vegetarian and no longer contain ham hock.
Considering how intently the owner responded to his customers’ reviews, I sincerely wish the best for Nana’s. We will be back. Many times.
